French Country Market in Morris, IL and more...

posted at  12:02 PM

The first French Country Market in Morris was a huge success. Lots of people came to see what it was all about and I think they were pleased. I met so many nice people. Its nice to know there are so many tea lovers in Morris and the surrounding area. I hope to see you again on Saturday, July 11 from 8 am to 2 pm for the next market. I'll have more goodies to share. The shop is coming along nicely but will not be open until the beginning of August. However, until then you can always contact me if you want to make a purchase.

The good people at the Makaibari estate in Darjeeling, India are still recovering from a cyclone that went through their area about a month ago. The damage to their estate was quite extensive, including the loss of several buildings and approximately ...

Scooter

posted at  3:24 PM

Meet Scooter! Scooter is a 2 year old orange tabby cat who likes boxes - and to have his picture taken. His mom received a package from The Birds and the Teas and Scooter thought the box was just the right size for him. His mom had the camera handy and took his picture. Such a handsome boy. We're glad he likes our boxes - and we're glad his mom likes our tea!

Coming Soon...A new location in downtown Morris, IL!

posted at  5:23 PM

Exciting news at The Birds and the Teas...  We will be moving to 805 Liberty St., Morris, IL. We found a great storefront - small and cozy, just right for us - so we decided to go for it. We're not sure the exact date of the "Grand Opening," but we hope to open in August. Keep checking the website for updates!

The French Country Market is just around the corner. Check out their blog
for a list of the vendors. Its shaping up to be a great venue. Hope to see you there.

Enjoy the weather, and as always, drink more tea..

Back from the Tea Expo

posted at  5:07 PM

I had a whirlwind trip to the World Tea Expo. I'm so glad I went. I met so many wonderful people, made new friends, talked with a lot of vendors (new and old) and learned A LOT. I completed the Specialty Tea Institute Level 1 and 2 Classes. It was amazing - can't wait to start on Level 3. The instructors were so helpful and knowledgeable. What a great experience.... After I got home I served iced tea at the Liberty Mercantile in Morris for "Girls Night Out" on Thursday and had another tea on Saturday at The Inn at Willow Falls. Both events were fantastic. Now its down to business - updating the website, re-stocking, etc. Hope everyone had an enjoyable Mother's Day. Check back soon for more updates.
