Today we had a Fox Sparrow under the feeder. The Fox Sparrow is a large sparrow with a streaked chest and a long rust colored tail.

We spotted our first Dark-eyed Junco under our feeder for this season. White-throated and White-crowned sparrows are about as well.

White-throated sparrows showed up under our feeder today. They sing the "...Oh sweet Canada...Canada...Canada..." song. Saturday evening around 8PM we heard our first E. Screech Owl. They have distinct calls including what's described as a whistled whinny. We also frequently hear Great-horned owls.

We must have had between 25 and 30 Robins in the backyard this morning feasting on the crab apples and berries in the yard. We were able to get a quick picture of one at the Chokeberry bushes.

We also had a late Hummingbird at our feeder today as well as a Brown Thrasher.

We saw our first White-crowned sparrows of the season in our backyard this morning. We are fortunate as they stay in our yard through late next Spring. There were also many Song Sparrows as well.
