The Tree Swallow young fledged about a week ago. From the sounds inside the bird "bottle" on our front porch, the House Wren young are getting big and are hungry! Cedar Waxwings have been grabbing berries from our bushes. They are such interesting looking birds.
The tree swallows have built a nest and laid eggs in our nest box. I counted 3 eggs and after that found it difficult to count due to the new feathers that were added. I decided it best not to disturb them so we likely have more than 3 eggs in the box.
The hummingbirds (Ruby-throated) have been visiting our feeders regularly now. We bought a new one recently (feeder that is :) ) but it doesn't have a perch and I think that they prefer the ones with perches.
A pair of Baltimore Orioles and a pair of Gray Catbirds have been regular visitors to our Oriole feeder. The Catbird (as well as the orioles) loves the oranges we put out.
